About the event
Slightest Clue is a Vancouver-based four-piece that probably shouldn’t work. Each member brings distinct influences and experiences: a stage actor whose playlists go from Talking Heads to Sonic Youth to Björk, a hook-obsessed recovering choir girl, an electrical engineer whose personal idol is John Bonham, and a guitarist who played for (and left) ten other bands before deciding this was the one for him. It’s like the secret after-school project of four kids who would have passed each other without a glance in the hallway at school - but once they’re plugged in and ready to play, all bets are off. It wasn’t supposed to work, but it does, and they don’t have the slightest clue how or why.
Mother SunMother Sun create melodic and adventurous rock n roll from the sprawling interior desert of Kamloops BC Canada. The four piece has shaped their sound while burrowing in realms of dream pop, psychedelia, jazz, surf, folk, garage rock and more. Their upcoming 2024 record ‘Meadow 6’ showcases their continued exploration of innovative genre bending sound and arrangement.
FarhavenFarhaven, born in the urban landscape of Vancouver BC, weaves a tapestry of pop/rock with threads of classic rock and Americana. Their music echoes the influences of icons such as the Beatles, The Strokes, Cut Worms, the Pixies, and Portugal. The Man, marked by a fusion of shimmering guitars and a retro soul.
Passion MangoPassion Mango's sensitive, distinctly West Coast style reflects their Pacific Northwest hometown. The band originally formed in December of 2022. They released their debut album Honeymoon Phase in the Spring of 2023, followed by EP Garden Party that summer. In late 2023, a video featuring their single Boy went viral on TikTok, amassing over 2 million plays on Spotify and bringing thousands of new listeners to their page. Passion Mango's sound finds influence from many genres (including grunge, shoegaze, punk, folk, hip-hop, etc.) but is mainly rooted in indie and alternative rock. Their music inspiration ranges from Peach Pit and Fleetwood Mac to Nirvana and Title Fight (whom they've been compared to with release Boy). They write their music from an honest and emotional place, touching on themes of grief, addiction, mental health, disillusionment, and the optimistic hope of love.
